Press ReleaseNet.Orange Inc. and the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Centers announce expansion of strategic collaborationDallas, TX (Feb. 27, 2008) – The Mary Crowley Cancer Research Centers (MCCRC) today announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with Texas-based Net.Orange Inc., inventor of the revolutionary cOS™ (Clinical Operating System) and many general and therapeutic-specific technology solutions. For the past year, MCCRC’s site management organization has been using the Net.Orange cOS™ solution for clinical trial management to administer over 100 cancer clinical trials across a national network of 10 cancer centers. Using the cOS™, MCCRC connects disparate systems including eResearch, a clinical trial management system developed by Velos Inc., a partner of Net.Orange, and provides critical information access to internal and external roles in the clinical trials process. With the expansion in the agreement, MCCRC will now deploy Net.Orange's specialized cancer treatment planning system, cOS™ TheraSystem, to provide oncologists and nurses with visibility and clinical decision support tools to manage a cancer patient's treatment plan. This new system will allow cancer care teams to implement traditional treatment regimens such as chemotherapy while at the same time, intelligently seek non-traditional alternatives, such as personalized molecular medicine and clinical trials, and identify the best available therapeutic approach for each patient. David Shanahan, President of the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Centers commented, "We are very excited about our strategic relationship with Net.Orange. The cOS™ will provide much needed decision support tools to help our oncologists and their nursing staff to manage the ever increasing complexity of delivering care to cancer patients. By integrating the patient record with matching clinical trial protocols and standard of care protocols in a single environment will truly provide a meaningful view to the care team." Dr. Vasu Rangadass, CEO, Net.Orange added, "We are excited to have the opportunity to interact with one of the most innovative oncology programs in the industry and address a significant unmet need. Cancer centers around the country have invested significant money in purchasing systems for billing, practice management, labs, radiology and medical records. cOS™ TheraSystem will allow these organizations to unlock the knowledge contained in these existing systems, while opening doors to relevant public information, and help them institute consistent decision making processes that are both clinically and financially optimal."
